Boom Lake, Rhinelander, WI

Rod Gaskill was a lifelong bass angler, moving from Las Vegas, NV to Wisconsin in the 1990s. He was a founding member of the Hodag Bassmasters and was tournament director for the Boom Lake Open for years. In 2018 he lost his 2.5 year fight with pancreatic cancer. This tournament is held in his honor, with proceeds always going to a non-profit organization dedicated to getting kids out fishing.
This year the proceeds of the tournament will go to the GO Program, a non-profit in Wisconsin working with foster care systems to get kids out fishing who may not otherwise have the chance.
This is a team bass tournament and all are welcome! Boats must be 16 feet, have a working livewell, and be powered by no less than a 25hp motor. All other rules are the same as those of the Wisconsin Bass Team Trail, the entity who also runs this tournament.
Cash is accepted at the ramp on the day of the tournament and take off order is determined by the order in which entries are received. There is a mandatory pre-tournament meeting at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the event. At least one member per team must be present at that meeting or the team will not be allowed to fish.
It is the responsibility of the anglers to know all of the rules of the tournament.
The entry fee will be $170, which includes big bass for the event. We pay out both big largemouth and big smallmouth.
